Starting September 2026, AWS Billing and Cost Management notifications are transitioning to AWS User Notifications with new sender addresses, updated design, and additional delivery channels. This article explains what's changing, what action you may need to take, and how to manage your notification preferences
What's changing
New sender email addresses
Billing and Cost Management emails will come from new @aws.com addresses (or @aws.eu*) based on notification subcategory (Billing and Invoices, Payment, Financing, Fraud Prevention, or Subscriptions) instead of no-reply@amazonaws.com (or no-reply@amazonaws.eu*).
Action required: If you have email filters, forwarding rules, or allowlists configured for @amazonaws.com (or @amazonaws.eu*), please add the new sender addresses to ensure continued delivery of billing notifications.

Updated email design
Notification emails will have an updated visual design, including a standardized footer. The content and information in the emails remains the same — only the presentation is changing.
Why am I seeing this notice on some emails but not others?
We are rolling out these improvements in phases. Each notification type (such as billing and invoices, payment, or fraud prevention) transitions on its own schedule. You will only see this notice on the specific email types that are about to change. Other billing emails that don't yet show this notice will transition in a subsequent phase and will display the notice ahead of their migration. All notification types are expected to complete the transition by the end of 2026.
New delivery channels through AWS User Notifications
These notifications are now delivered through AWS User Notifications, which means you can also receive them through:
- AWS Console Notification Center — view, search, and filter notification history directly in the AWS Console (default)
- AWS Console Mobile App — push notifications on your mobile device (opt-in)
- Amazon Q Developer — notifications in Slack or Microsoft Teams (opt-in)
To learn more about these channels and how to configure them, visit the AWS User Notifications documentation or the AWS User Notifications console.
Additionally, AWS User Notifications supports SDK/CLI and CloudFormation for programmatic configuration and consumption of these notifications. To learn more about AWS User Notifications: https://aws.amazon.com/notifications/
New notification category: AWS Billing and Cost Management
After launch in September 2026, a new "AWS Billing and Cost Management" category will appear under AWS managed notification subscriptions with the following subcategories:
- Billing and Invoices
- Payment
- Financing
- Fraud Prevention
- Subscriptions
From here you can manage your notification preferences — choose which subcategories you want to receive, which contacts get them, and through which delivery channels.
Note: The "AWS Billing and Cost Management" category and its subcategories will only appear in the AWS User Notifications console after the launch in September 2026.
Managing your notification preferences
Starting September 2026, you can manage your billing notification preferences through the AWS managed notifications subscriptions page:
- Opt out of non-critical notification subcategories per contact type
- Choose which delivery channels you receive each notification type on
- Review which contacts on your account are subscribed to which categories
Transition period
After each notification type transitions, you can opt out and return to the previous email-only experience. The opt-out option is available under the "AWS Billing and Cost Management" category in the AWS User Notifications console and will remain available through the end of 2026, after which all billing notifications will be delivered permanently through the enhanced experience.
