My keyboard doesn't respond, or I have keyboard issues when I use Amazon WorkSpaces.
Resolution
Troubleshoot keyboard issues for all operating systems
Take the following actions:
If your keyboard still doesn't respond, then complete the following steps:
- Open the Keyboard Event Viewer in a web browser. See the Keyboard Event Viewer on the GitHub website.
- Test each key of your keyboard. After you finished, leave the window open.
- Log in to your WorkSpace.
- Open the Keyboard Event Viewer in your WorkSpace.
- Test each key of your keyboard.
- Compare the key code in your WorkSpace to the key code in your web browser.
If the key codes are different, then you can change the keyboard layout so that both versions match. For more information, see Language and keyboard settings for WorkSpaces.
Turn off Secure Keyboard Entry for macOS
When you activate the Secure Keyboard Entry option on macOS, the WorkSpaces client can't receive input from the operating system (OS).
To turn off Secure Keyboard Entry on macOS, complete the following steps:
- Open a Terminal window.
- On the menu bar, choose Terminal, then clear Secure Keyboard Entry.
If the none of the preceding troubleshooting steps resolves your issue, then contact AWS Support.
