This was fixed with this solution. Removed the www A/AA records and created a CNAME record pointing to the mySite.com alias as shown.

Both mySite.com and www.mySite.com need to be A (alias) records pointing to your CloudFront distribution in Route 53.

Yes, in R53 I have both mySite.com and www.mySite.com A and AA records pointing to CloudFront Distro. -- I've added a screenshot
Do you have website hosting turn on for the bucket? It should be turned off.
Bucket had static hosting enabled. I turned it off resulting in no change.
