Question about July's bill - usage amount

0

I would like to inquire about July's bill.

The invoice for the "Elastic Compute Cloud" says 863 Hrs for the use of a Linux t2.large instance.

The invoice is for the period from 01.07 to 31.7, i.e. 31 days. So it should be a maximum of 31 * 24 = 744 hours. Hence the question: How did the 863 hours come about?

I need this information for my company's billing.

Thank you for your feedback in advance and best regards,

Based on your question and conversation, I'd strongly suggest you to contact to AWS support from here and provide as much details as possible.

Also, make sure that you mention this, that you have closed the account and there are no resources running which may get billed to you and you see them as surprises.

Hope you find this useful.

Hi,

The monthly EC2 bill will show cumulative usage for each instance that ran in a given month in decimal hours. Therefore, your invoice shows that you have been running more than one Linux t2.large instance during July.

  • Thank you for your answer.

I only ran the services on my private computer. Then how can it happen that a certain instance has been executed twice at the same time?

  • I'm sorry. I would say that it has not been executed twice simultaneously, but that you have deployed more than one Linux t2.large instance. Did you have an autoscaling group configured? You can also check in CloudTrail all the events related with the EC2 services.

  • I can't access the CloudTrail now because I closed the account. I am now worried about whether there would be any additional charges even though I closed the account. I also stopped all services. Could you please email me all the billing informations, that explains the usage amount of 863h? My account ID is 802808353722.

  • Sorry, this is not the appropriate place. I recommend you open a support case for it.
