Create Campaign: Always use latest version of segment?

Templates and Segments are both versioned. When creating a Campaign, it's possible to use the latest ("ACTIVE") version of a Template, but it seems that functionality is not available when selecting the Segment.

I.e. You are forced to specify a Segment version, and there is no way for subsequent changes to the segment to be automatically picked up by dependent Campaigns.

Is my understanding correct? TIA
