Hi, Amazon Aurora releases new versions of the PostgreSQL database engine in AWS Regions. You can upgrade your Aurora PostgreSQL DB clusters to the new version once it becomes available in your Region. The upgrade process depends on the current version of Aurora PostgreSQL running on your DB cluster. An upgrade is considered a minor upgrade if you're moving to a newer minor version within the same major version (e.g., from 13.3 to 13.7). However, if you're upgrading to a new major version (e.g., from 11.15 to 13.6), it is classified as a major upgrade. The subsequent sections provide information on how to perform both minor and major upgrades. You can refer following documentation for major upgrade for aurora.
Hi,
This video describes in detail what you want to achieve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNdn4KyEdqs
Best,

I would recommend using RDS blue green deployments.
