Help requested on rdsadmin syntax for oracle "ALTER SYSTEM SET SMTP_OUT_SERVER =..."

Question

This seems to be one of those specific commands that are not documented as a "common example", and of course we cannot view the procedures in the rdsadmin_util package.  The mail server, for what it's worth, resolves to a URL source rather than an IP address.  TIA

Based on what you shared, seems like you want to take a look at the documentation for syntax "ALTER SYSTEM SET SMTP_OUT_SERVER =..."?

Researching further from RDS Oracle public documentation, I was able to find: [+] https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/Oracle.Options.UTLMAIL.html

SMTP_OUT_SERVER is a parameter which customer can set. And in order to change for the system, customer will need to modify the parameter.

"You can set the default SMTP_OUT_SERVER for a DB instance by using a DB parameter group. You can set the SMTP_OUT_SERVER parameter for a session by running the following code on your database on your DB instance.

ALTER SESSION SET smtp_out_server = mailserver.domain.com:25 ;"
