To add Cost Categories as Filter in the CIDs, please follow this Cloud Intelligence Dashboards Lab - Customizations: https://wellarchitectedlabs.com/cost/200_labs/200_cloud_intelligence/customizations/guides/1_addingtags/
In the video there is a direct example with a tag and also a Cost Category.
You can directly implement your Cost Centers in QuickSight like in Alexander Response, but if you've implemented more complex cost categories and just want to filter for them without creating a new source, following the above lab you will be able to create controls to filter out data on your dashboards.
Take a look at this YouTube video on the AWS Cloud Intelligence Dashboards YouTube channel - Map Cost Centers and more to your Cloud Intelligence Dashboards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95fcd-pgTEw
The Well Architected workshop has been updated and you can see the updated customization details in the workshop for adding tags. Adding cost categories works the same way, the prefix of cost categories is cost_categories_* vs. the resource_tages_user_* or resource_tags_aws_*.
