I understand that you are not able to see the query saved in your Athena Query Editor.
Normally, to save a query from the Athena console:
- Click on the vertical three dot menu on the "Query" tab.
- Click on save as.
- Choose a name for your query.
- Choose a query description ( Optional ).
You can view the saved Queries in 'Saved queries' tab as well. [+] https://docs.aws.amazon.com/athena/latest/ug/saved-queries.html
When you meant saved queries have disappeared, please check if you have selected the right region.
Please note that the queries you ran previously can be found under the 'Recent queries' tab on the UI, kindly check and see if you find your queries there. [+] https://docs.aws.amazon.com/athena/latest/ug/querying.html. Also, Please refer 'Keeping query history longer than 45 days'
Note: In case if you want to retrieve the past queryid, navigate to cloudTrail -> Event History -> Key: Event Name and Value: StartQueryExecution, to find the previous queryExecutionId.
Athena console stored the query editor tabs in the browser local storage. Only the queries under Saved queries
menu are stored by Athena service. Due to these, we cannot provide the queries you previously used in your browser’s query editor tabs.
I hope this answers your query.
