How to link personal account to a root account and make payments from the root account

I am currently planning to run some simulations using IonQ, but the problem is that I don’t know how to link my personal account to my PI’s root account so that he can make payments for my simulations. Anyone has any advice on that? I would really appreciate it!

Probably best if the paying account creates an account for you under their organization so the bill rolls up to them. If you want to remain in your personal account, you can use cost allocation tags to track your simulation work.
