How do I request a dependency update for the awslabs/amazon-qldb-driver-java SDK?

I've created an issue (#216) on the GitHub repository requesting an update to its AWS SDK dependencies, however, it seems like it hasn't been maintained in a while. Its last update was a year ago and dependabot is not working anymore.

In the event that no contributor takes action, is there anything I can do to push this issue forwards? These outdated dependencies make it generally incompatible with up-to-date AWS SDKs and create lots of transient dependency conflicts.
