Please let me know if this blog helps: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/monitor-deadlocks-in-amazon-rds-for-sql-server-and-set-notifications-using-amazon-cloudwatch/ https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/USER_PerfInsights_Counters.html
Hello,
Deadlocks are reported in database error log/alert log. You may check full details (sql, sessions, object, etc.) there and then drill down in Performance insight to relate with root cause etc.
Thanks
The exact resolution for deadlock monitoring varies depending on with DBMS platform you are using. For example, in SQL Server, you must enable the monitoring functionality through a Parameter Group. Details for the step-by-step process are here - https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/monitor-deadlocks-in-amazon-rds-for-sql-server-and-set-notifications-using-amazon-cloudwatch/.
