How to download EC2 volume to personal computer

Question

I am trying to download the data within the storage volume attached to my EC2 instance to my local computer. I do not want to store it on AWS any more, nor do I want to continue to pay the charges that are necessary for a snapshot volume.

Could someone please assist me in doing this?

Can I ask why you do not want to keep your data in AWS anymore? Have you looked into [S3](https://aws.amazon.com/s3/?nc=sn&loc=0)?

There are [different ways to transfer files](https://linuxhint.com/transfer-files-ec2-instance/) from your EC2 to your local machine, but the easiest way for me is using [scp](https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-use-scp-command-to-securely-transfer-files/).
