I have written some blog posts with associated GitHub repositories for streaming data from QLDB out to different back end data stores. An example post is linked below, but there are several more if you look on that site * [How I streamed data from Amazon QLDB to DynamoDB using Nodejs in near-real time](https://dev.to/aws-heroes/real-time-streaming-for-amazon-qldb-3c3c) The data on the stream is in ION format, and as it is on a Kinesis Data Stream it is also base64 encoded, hence the output you are seeing.

How I streamed data from Amazon QLDB to DynamoDB using Nodejs in near-real time

The data on the stream is in ION format, and as it is on a Kinesis Data Stream it is also base64 encoded, hence the output you are seeing.
