Why does the documentation suggest to set randomize to true for active/standby?

The default connection string is used with failover without any parameter where randomize parameter by default is “true”, Apache documentation suggests to set this to false if you want to connect to primary first and connect to secondary only when primary fails

I consider to set the “randomize” parameter to “false”, because only one/first broker is active in active/standby case.

AWS doc suggests to set randomize=true for Active/Standby , could you explain why? Shouldn't it be set to false ?

Hi Muhammad_S, The active broker can be any of the two brokers in the active/standby pair. You cannot assume that it will be the first broker every time. Either of the two can be the “active” at any time, neither one is more likely than the other to be active so random=true is a good idea.

Thanks, Mithun
