EC2 ssl certificate and 0

  • I have an S3 bucket configured as a static website. This is were all the front end files live
  • I have an EC2 instance that runs a small node js app. This apps is only used when users submit a form.
  • I have configured the S3 bucket with my personal domain name
  • I have created a certificate on AWS (status = issued, in use = yes)
  • I have configured ROUTE 53 to include the CNAME records

I can access my site on HTTPS (since the index and all files are on S3), but since I refference the EC2 instance, the browser still says the connestion to my site might no safe.

What would you advise to fix this issue?

Hello, Could you tell me more about the cert you have? Have you tried installing the SSL on your node app server and ensuring the right ports are open?

You either need to obtain a 3rd Party Signed SSL Certificate and bind it to your nodejs app on your EC2

OR

Create an ALB and attach a certificate via AWS ACM on the HTTPS listerner. Place your EC2 in a target group and add to a rule on the ALB
