There could be a few reasons why people were unable to join your Amazon Chime call even with only around 100 attendees:

  1. Meeting type: If your meeting was set up as a high-definition session, the limit is 100 attendees. So if you were close to or at this limit, additional people would not be able to join.

  2. Invitation limit: Amazon Chime allows invitations for up to 300 attendees, but this is to account for expected declines and no-shows. The actual limit for attendees who can join and participate is lower.

  3. Attendee panel limit: The Attendees panel can display a maximum of 300 items. If this limit is reached, new attendees might receive a "meeting full" notice and be unable to join, even if the actual number of participants is lower.

  4. Waiting room: External participants might have been placed in a waiting room and not admitted to the meeting, which could make it appear as though they couldn't join.

  5. User permissions: There might have been issues with user permissions or account setups, especially if some of the attendees were external partners or using older account credentials.

To avoid these issues in the future, consider using media replication for larger meetings, which can support up to 10,000 attendees after requesting a limit increase. Also, ensure that all attendees have the correct permissions and are properly invited to the meeting.
