I receive confirmation that my phone number was successfully unassigned. However, the Amazon Chime SDK console grays out the option to delete my phone number, and the phone number status changes back to assigned.
Short description
To delete a phone number set as the Caller ID override in the Amazon Chime SDK Voice Connecter, first, delete the phone number in the Voice Connector Termination settings. Then, delete the phone number from your phone number inventory.
Resolution
Delete the phone number from Caller ID override
Complete the following steps:
- Open the Amazon Chime SDK console.
- In the navigation pane, choose Voice Connectors.
- Choose your Voice Connector name.
- In the Termination tab, under Caller ID override, choose Delete.
Unassign the phone number from the Voice Connector
Complete the following steps:
- Open the Amazon Chime SDK console.
- In the navigation pane, under Phone Numbers, choose Phone number management.
- In the Inventory tab, choose the phone number that you want to unassign.
- Choose Unassign.
- Under Unassign phone numbers, choose Unassign.
Delete unassigned phone numbers
Complete the following steps:
- Open the Amazon Chime SDK console.
- In the navigation pane, under Phone Numbers, choose Phone number management.
- In the Inventory tab, choose the number that you want to delete. Then, choose Delete.
- Choose Actions, then choose Delete phone number(s).
- Select I understand the impact of this action, and then choose Delete.
Note: The system holds deleted phone numbers in the Deletion queue for 7 days, before it permanently deletes them.
