How do I use CloudFront geographic restrictions to control access to my web content?

Resolution

Allow or block geographic restrictions for countries

Complete the following steps:

1. Open the CloudFront console.
2. In the navigation pane, choose Distributions, and then select your CloudFront distribution.
3. Choose the Security tab, expand CloudFront geographic restrictions, and then choose Edit.
4. For Restriction type, choose Allow List to allow countries access to your web content, or choose Block List to block countries.
5. For Countries, choose the countries that you want to allow or block.
6. Choose Add.
7. Choose Save changes.

Use alternate methods to restrict content

You can also use the following methods to restrict access to web content:

• Use geographic match rule statements with AWS WAF to monitor HTTP and HTTPS requests and manage web access based on AWS Region of origin. For more information, see Using AWS WAF with Amazon CloudFront.
• Use edge functions to customize how your distributions process requests and responses.
