I'm a seller and I want to know how to submit a refund for my customer for AWS Marketplace software charges.

Resolution

As a seller, you can request different types of refunds that are subject to refund policies and approvals. To initiate a refund, see AWS Marketplace product refund process.

Note: Only sellers can request a refund, not buyers.

If you are an AWS Marketplace seller and want to issue a software refund to a customer, the process is handled through the AWS Marketplace Management Portal.

Here’s a simple step-by-step overview:

Sign in to the AWS Marketplace Management Portal using your seller account. Go to: “Support” or “Customer Subscriptions / Agreements” section (depending on product type) Locate the customer subscription or contract you want to refund. Submit a refund request by providing: Customer AWS account ID Product details Reason for refund Refund amount or percentage Applicable subscription/contract period AWS reviews and processes the refund request.

Important points:

Refunds are typically processed back to the customer’s original AWS billing account. For SaaS contracts or annual subscriptions, refunds may be prorated. Refund permissions and workflows can differ based on: SaaS products AMI products Container products Private offers Some refunds require AWS Marketplace support involvement.

You can also contact AWS Marketplace Seller Operations if you cannot process the refund directly from the portal.
