That's really disappointing and I wonder why this is the case. Some kind of a view feels important and needed to manage the EFS service.
Not sure why. Here is another possibility. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/efs/latest/ug/using-aws-transfer-integration.html
Technically all I need is a way of seeing EFS content to debug issues and Secure Session Management fits that purpose perfectly. It allowed to connect to an ECS task (like a SSH session); effectively giving me a bastion node to work with.
