Windows Server 2022 RDS CAL's

We have a windows 22 server and atmost 10 users will RDP into the server concurrently.

  1. Which license should I purchase to enable multiple(10) users to RDP into the server - Is it user CAL or device CAL ?
  2. If i purchase the licenses, how exactly they should be configured on the windows 22 EC2 server ?
  3. During the installation of license on windows 22 server, is there any additional config to be done on AWS ?
  4. Also, can AWS Microsoft AD be helpful in my case and if yes, how ?

At this time, a comprehensive explanation is more needed for me to understand better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !

    What exactly are,

    1. RD Licensing servers
    2. Windows Remote Desktop Session Hosts (RD Session Hosts)
    3. Terminal Service Licensing Server

    Are these different from the windows 22 server instance we deployed ?

    The guide is a bit old but it should also work for server 2022. "Remote Desktop Licensing" is just a role service that you can install on the server to make it a licensing server.
