How to configure mutual authentication for aws s3 buckets

We were able to communicate with AWS S3 buckets via curl for GET and PUT rest calls. We are planning to implement mutual authentication for AWS S3 buckets. Need guidance for the approach to be followed to achieve this.
Our queries:
1. To implement Mutual authentication(mtls), Is it mandatory to create a custom domain name for our AWS S3 bucket?
3. Is there any other simple way where we can enable mtls for aws S3 storage?

According to the AWS documentation, mutual TLS authentication requires a custom domain name for the REST API that accesses the S3 bucket. You can use AWS API Gateway to call the S3 bucket. You can have a look at the below links. Hope this helps.
