Can we trigger cloudwatch alarm immediately when there is a breach in the system i.e. immediately after publishing the metrics.

Consider that there is a breach in data point at 11:01:00, then can we raise an alarm at 11:01:01 or < 11:01:05 so that we are notified immediately?

Is this possible with cloudwatch?

Hi, the minimum alarm evaluation delay is every 10 seconds. You may also incur a few seconds delay for the data to become available to the alarm, so you can't get an alarm within just 1 or 5 seconds - can you please explain the use case and your need for a near-second alarm?

we have an use case to notify the issue immediately for reducing the blast radius of the system whenever there is an issue with the system.

Hi, Jsc is right: evaluation delay is 10s. See "If the alarm period is 10 seconds or 30 seconds, the alarm is evaluated every 10 seconds." in https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/monitoring/AlarmThatSendsEmail.html
