"HIVE_CURSOR_ERROR: Unknown symbol" for Amazon Ion file Athena query

Hello,

I am trying to query some files stored in s3. The files are stored in binary Amazon Ion format and have gzip compression.

When attempting to preview my table: "SELECT * FROM "hidden"."test_ion_data" limit 10;"

I get this error: "HIVE_CURSOR_ERROR: Unknown symbol text for $10"

I have populated many of the table properties manually as glue was not updating much. I am thinking that either the data itself is malformed (glue not populating table info would reaffirm this).
