RDS WITH 2 READ REPLICAS IN EKS

I have an RDS with 2 read replicas. I have configured the Read replicas in the code database section and also created a route 53 weighted policy DNS for distributing read traffic equally to my read replicas. The question is should I also have the read replicas in my Kubernetes configuration file or I just have a Kubernetes file kind stateful set pointing to my primary DB
