Does the succesful sent request graph in the SES dashboard show the amount of emails that were delivered successfully?

Question

The description of the _Sends_ chart is `The count of successful send requests.`. What is the definition of a successful send request? Does a succesful send request mean that an email was successfully sent _and_ delivered or only that the sent action itself was succesful?

The documentation here says that even global suppression is counted, so I think it only means that the send action itself was successful.
