I resolved my issue in the short term. I will update if I can find out what settings to modify on BitDefender.
- Turned off Bit defender. This stopped the "password expired" dialog. But a new issue arose...
"Login attempt failed". I wasn't sure why this was happening because I know the credentials were right.
- I had to explicitly type "domain\user" in the user dialog after selecting "More Options" despite the exact same user\domain being listed as the default.
