Installation of the Desktop on AL2023 works as described [here](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/linux/al2023/ug/installing-gnome-al2023.html). The desktop is in core, no need for any extra repositories. You can then access the desktop via [VNC](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/linux/al2023/ug/vnc-configuration-al2023.html) or [DCV](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dcv/latest/adminguide/what-is-dcv.html). The feature is new and was just released yesterday.

Amazon Linux2023 doesn't seem to support GUI.
