INVALID_PAYMENT_INSTRUMENT

-2

AccessDeniedException — Model access is denied due to INVALID_PAYMENT_INSTRUMENT: A valid payment instrument must be provided. Your AWS Marketplace subscription for this model cannot be completed at this time.

I get this error popup when I try to invoke any model from aws bedrock (using playground). First time when I get error for any specific model, it get active in marketplace subscription, and in second attempt it moves to inactive state with same error.

I tried all the ways,

  • I setup a credit card in payment method,
  • I set it up as default payement method also,
  • I set my region with us-east-1,
  • Raised the support case also.

My account is an AWS India account (AISPL). The service provider is Amazon Web Services India Private Limited, billing currency INR, billing address in Hyderabad, India.

But nothing happend. If anyone here can help me with this issue, It would be very helpful.

Thanks!!!!

The error you're experiencing is related to payment instrument validation for AWS Marketplace subscriptions required by certain Amazon Bedrock foundation models. However, there's an important consideration for your specific situation.

Since you mentioned your account is an AWS India account (AISPL - Amazon Internet Services Private Limited) with INR billing currency, this is likely the root cause of your issue. AWS Marketplace subscriptions and certain third-party foundation models in Amazon Bedrock may have restrictions or limitations for AISPL accounts, as the AWS Marketplace operates differently in the India region compared to standard AWS accounts.

For AISPL accounts, you may need to:

  1. Verify AWS Marketplace availability: Not all AWS Marketplace offerings are available for AISPL accounts. Some third-party models that require marketplace subscriptions may not be supported.

  2. Use models that don't require AWS Marketplace: Consider using foundation models that don't require AWS Marketplace subscriptions, such as those from Amazon, which should work with your AISPL account without marketplace-related issues.

  3. Follow up on your support case: Since you've already raised a support case, this is the correct path. AWS Support can verify whether the specific models you're trying to access are available for AISPL accounts and provide guidance on any account-specific limitations or alternative solutions.

The payment instrument error you're seeing suggests the system is unable to validate payment for marketplace subscriptions, which is likely due to the AISPL account structure rather than an issue with your payment method setup.
