I understand your frustration with ongoing charges. Let me clarify a few important points:
AWS Account vs. Skill Builder Subscription: These are separate services. Canceling your Skill Builder subscription would not affect AWS service charges. AWS doesn't operate on a "subscription" model in the traditional sense - you're charged based on the AWS resources and services you're actively using in your account.
Why You May Still Be Charged: If you're receiving charges, it means there are likely active AWS resources running in your account (such as EC2 instances, S3 buckets, databases, or other services) that are incurring costs. Simply not accessing your account doesn't stop these charges - the resources must be explicitly terminated or deleted.
What You Should Do:
- Access Your Account: Try logging into the AWS Billing Console to view your detailed charges and identify which services are generating costs
- Check All Regions: Resources may be running in different AWS regions, so check all regions for active services
- Terminate Resources: You'll need to stop or delete any active resources to stop future charges
- Contact AWS Support: For account access issues, billing disputes, or refund requests, you should contact AWS Support directly through their official channels, as they can review your specific account situation and billing history
Important: If you truly cannot access your account, AWS Support is your best path forward to resolve both the access issue and discuss any potential refunds for charges you believe are erroneous.
