Link an existing Route53 Hosted Zone to a Lightsail DNS Zone

0

I am trying to add an existing Route53 Hosted Zone to Lightsail via the Lightsail - Create a DNS Zone. When I select "Use a domain that is registered with Amazon Route 53", it claims that I don't have a domain registered with Route53. But this is in fact 100% not the case. I use this same domain zone for something else, and I'm looking to migrate to using Lightsail. What am I doing wrong where Lightsail is unable to see my existing DNS zone in Route53?

Zone and domains are 2 different things.

You have have a zone setup in route53 in another account which may or may not be registered with AWS.

You can’t add existing zones from route 53 to light sail.

Is your domain registered with AWS?

Hello

You can not view/use Route 53 DNS Zone from Lightsail console.

If your domain is registered with Route 53, you can follow this document to create a new DNS Zone in Lightsail and manage your DNS records in Lightsail https://lightsail.aws.amazon.com/ls/docs/en_us/articles/lightsail-how-to-create-dns-entry

You can also follow the same doc if your domain registered with other vendors.

Thank you.
