WorkSpaces are subordinate to the Directory they are created in. You must created the new Directory and a new WorkSpace in the new Directory. As for WorkDocs, you can continue to use the old Directory but it would be extra overhead managing two Directory identities. Otherwise, you can create WorkDocs in the new Directory and transfer over the files (using FSx to stage between them).
