Can I change the directory of a workspace ?

0

I created initially my workspace with a simple AD directory. but now I want to use FSx (file server) and that requires an AWS Managed directory. I have created this new directory. So how do I switch ? and what happens with the workdocs I was using and the data in it ?

WorkSpaces are subordinate to the Directory they are created in. You must created the new Directory and a new WorkSpace in the new Directory. As for WorkDocs, you can continue to use the old Directory but it would be extra overhead managing two Directory identities. Otherwise, you can create WorkDocs in the new Directory and transfer over the files (using FSx to stage between them).
