AWS Elemental MediaLive – Save Live Streams to S3 Bucket as MP4 Files

0

Hi,

I couldn't find a way to save the AWS Elemental MediaLive live streams as mp4 files to an S3 bucket after the live sream has finished. Is it possible? How can it be done?

  • Hoping for that option as well. Currently, I believe, a ts file to S3 is the only option and they flip to mp4 after the fact. AWS has options for that also Handbrake is popular to do the same.

  • Tank you Bruce.

AWS Elemental MediaLive currently supports writing to S3 several formats; TS files in Archive Output Group, Segmented HLS in the HLS Output Group, MSS in the MSS Output Group. MP4 file capture is not currently supported by MediaLive. You could write a TS or HLS stream to S3, then convert that to an MP4 using AWS Elemental MediaConvert, or other file transcoder of your choosing.

  • Hi Mike, thank you for your answer. The TS file Archive setting devides the file into chunks of 220 MB. Can this be changed? Can't fine any setting for this.
