OSS pricing / usage hours?

0

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question about the usage hours for OSS pricing. What exactly is a usage hour?

This will be useful to know so that I can estimate my project costs before I undertake the project, as the pricing states that "Storage pricing depends on the storage tier and type of instance that you choose. Free Tier: You can get started for free on OpenSearch Service with AWS Free Tier. For customers in the AWS Free Tier, OpenSearch Service provides free usage of up to 750 hours per month of a t2.small.search or t3.small.search instance, which are entry-level instances typically used for test workloads, and 10 GB per month of optional Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) storage. If you exceed the Free Tier usage limits, you will be charged the OpenSearch Service rates for the additional resources you use."

Regards, Em

Hello.

Just a quick question about the usage hours for OSS pricing. What exactly is a usage hour?

This is the time the OpenSearch Service was started.
In other words, if you use it all day long, you have used it for 24 hours.
For example, if you complete a test of OpenSearch Service in 12 hours and then delete it because it is no longer needed, you will be billed for 12 hours.
By the way, there is no option to stop OpenSearch Service, so I recommend deleting it when it is no longer needed.

  • Thank you!!

  • How can I check whether OSS is being used? How do I delete it?

  • OpenSearch Service can be found by checking the domain tab for each region. a
For OpenSearch Serverless, you can check from the collection tab. a
You can delete each resource by selecting it and clicking "Delete" on the top right.

  • Thank you, Riku!
