Determine daily/monthly lightsail data out usage

0

I'm attempting to check what our daily data out usage is, but the cost explorer only shows the daily lightsail costs. I understand I don't have any costs yet, but want to see what we're using to make sure this is the right product/service for us.

Hi There

You can use the following Usage Types to analyze Data Transfer Out charges for Lightsail

Region-TotalDataXfer-Out-Bytes: The total amount of data transferred out (in gigabytes).

Region-DataXfer-Out-Overage-Bytes: The amount of data transferred out to the internet or public IPs that is over the allowance of the instance or database plan(s) used (in gigabytes).

In cost explorer, you can change the "Dimension" to "Usage Type". See screenshot below for an example of costs by usage type

If you want to see the actual number of GB, you need to filter on one of the above usage types:

Thanks for your reply. That did get me the information I was looking for. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to allow me a way to identify which lightsail instance.

As you are aware that lightsail is a VPS, it has many other integrated resources - instance is one them.

It appears to me you are very close to find the data quantity usage/monthly of your instance. If you go to "Bills" on the Global dashboard, click on Bills, you will find some tabs on this page. Click "Charges by service" and on the right (almost middle of the page) click on "+Expand all" right side of the page. See under the "Usage Quantity" how much data you use on the particular month. You also see the active services under your account.

Please advise whehter this information came in any assistance.
