Route 53 DNS Not Propagating

0

About a week ago, I started a process to move my domain name on route 53 to clouflare to use cloudflare protection. According to the instructions, I replaced the ns records on route 53 with cloudflare server addresses. I waited 2 days but nothing changed. When I used the dig command, I was seeing the aws ns server addresses. Thereupon, I wanted to delete the hosted zone that I created in cloudflare and continue from route 53, but this time my global domain name was not propogate. As a result of my research, I learned that my domain was suspended due to lack of email verification. I activated the domain 2 days ago, but I can't seem to register on any name server other than aws. My website has been out of service for about 1 week. What should I do?

Hi,

Could you provide a bit more details about your situation?

  1. Where the domain has been registered? It's can be done at Route53, GoDaddy or other registrants.
  2. Where did you upgrade your NS settings?

If your domain registered at AWS, you need go to the Route53 -> Registered Domains -> find your domain and edit NS there (point to the CloudFlare) see on picture #2. If your domain registered somewhere else, you need edit NS there, not at AWS Route53

If you did edit NS in the Route53 -> Hosted zones - your domain (picture #1) - it's a wrong approach.

Thanks for your reply. Let me give you detailed info. The domain is registered in aws. I made the Name server change for Cloudflare on route 53. The domain was never active in Cloudflare, and it remained on pending for ns change. However, I deleted the application from cloudflare 2 days ago. I want to continue with Route 53. But although my domain is visible and active in the registered domain list in route 53, no dns record is visible globally. Enter image description here

  • Please check if you have these Name servers defined as NS in Route53 -> Hosted Zones -> your domain -> Records
