reserve instance after changing from t2.nano to t3a.micro

0

Good day,

I changed my instance from t2.nano 8 GB to t3a.micro and 25 GB. Now, I want to reserve for 1 year and it is not possible. Do I have to wait one month until billing is completed with my new settings?

Hello,

it sounds like you recently resized an EC2 instance from a t2.nano to a t3a.micro instance type, which increased the instance storage from 8GB to 25GB.

When you try to purchase a 1-year Reserved Instance (RI) for this instance, it is not allowing you. This is likely because the attributes of the new instance (instance type and storage size) no longer match what is covered by your existing RIs.

I think the following link will help you sort out your problem -

Thanks

If you've just changed your instance type and size, you might have to wait for the current billing cycle to complete before you can purchase a Reserved Instance for the new configuration.

To clarify the situation and understand the billing cycle, it's best to check your AWS Billing Dashboard or contact AWS Support for more accurate information regarding when you'll be eligible to purchase a Reserved Instance for your new instance configuration. They can provide specific guidance based on your account details and billing cycle.
