MSK upgrade failure rollback

0

Hi,

Let's imagine we're upgrading our MSK cluster from 3.2 to 3.5.x. What happens if the upgrade fails for a broker for a reason other than partition counts being too high? Will MSK rollback the upgrade and move the cluster back to ACTIVE status?

I can't find any information about this in the docs. I only see information about failures related to partition counts.

Hello,

MSK handles upgrades in a managed way and if there is any issue during upgrade operation, it has automated workflows that will rollback the cluster to previous state. There are very rare chances that MSK cluster is stuck in between an upgrade operation. However, if there are any issues encountered due to which upgrade cannot proceed, cluster is automatically rolled back to previous state and upgrade operation is marked as failed.

Thank You!
