Hi,
as you mentioned bandwidth is up to 5 Gbps. That is the burst bandwidth which is available for a certain amount of time but not permanently. The bandwidth also depends to what destination you are connecting to. For more information, please see Amazon EC2 instance network bandwidth.
When you need a consistent 5 Gpbs bandwidth you can choose another instance type.
