AWS Device Farm doesn't provide a direct mechanism to change the device state from "paired" to "connected" as these states are managed by the underlying iOS device management system.
For iOS testing in Device Farm, you have a few options:
-
For Appium tests on iOS devices, Device Farm uses WebDriverAgent which must be signed to be installed on iOS devices. Device Farm provides pre-signed versions of WebDriverAgent that are available during custom test environment runs. You can select a compatible WebDriverAgent version in your test spec file that works with your XCTestUI Driver version.
-
If you're using XCTest UI framework, you can upload your iOS app (.ipa file) and test package (.ipa or .zip file) through the Device Farm console by creating a run, selecting iOS app as the run type, and choosing XCTest UI as the test framework.
-
You can also use network profiles to simulate different network conditions during your test runs if that's relevant to your testing needs.
If your utility specifically requires a "connected" state rather than "paired," you might need to adapt your testing approach to work within Device Farm's environment or contact AWS support for specific guidance on your use case.
