How to make "murky" water?

Hello! How can I make "murky" water? My water is pristine. So clear, in fact, that it makes items flowing in it seem like they're hovering. I've tried modifying the material's opacity, but that didn't work. Changing the opacity to values under 87 make the water completely disappear. Other opacity settings have no effect.

To make the water murky you need to explore and tweak some of the parameters of the water volume. Select the water volume and play around with the different parameters to see what they do. I have highlighted a few that will give you what you are looking for.

That documentation appears to be inaccurate. All of the parameters control the fog under the water. If you want to experiment with fog above the water, I suggest you play around with fog volumes:
