How we can visualize as a diagram using workload discovery?

0

I have gone through this article to generate architecture diagrams of AWS Cloud workloads there is no certain guideline on where to start and how to start to build this to get architecture diagrams of any size live workload of aws account to reside.

Does anyone use this feature to create architecture diagrams of AWS Cloud workloads?

Hi Amir, I'm sorry I don't have the answer for you, but I'm asking similar questions. Two things I'm looking at are AWS Workload Discovery, which you've already found (see the Implementation Guide for details), and an AWS Marketplace service called Cloudcraft. My problem right now is trying to find out what their differences are. One thing I do notice is that the cost of Workload Discovery is just the cost of the AWS resources required (about $425/month for a single instance -- there are also multiple instance options for availability at a higher cost), while the cost of Cloudcraft seems to be based on the number of users (about US$490/user per year), so from that perspective the breakeven point seems to be 11 users. But where the documentation for both is vague is in what their actual capabilities are, which is kind of strange! Anyway good luck, and if you find out anything useful, please let me know!

Other helpful options include, (open source) CloudMapper (https://github.com/duo-labs/cloudmapper) and (Paid, $9.95pm) SmartDraw (https://www.smartdraw.com/whats-new/aws-integration.htm). It really depends on your goals - being one time mapping (e.g. end of project) or ongoing mapping for operational reviews and maintenance.
