Hello Luc, unfortunately at this time, we don't support using Pinpoint long codes to be used as Amazon Connect numbers (or vice versa). We have heard this request from customers as a feature request, but, as with all feature requests, we can't provide an ETA as to if or when this functionality would be available. In the meantime, you can make use of the Pinpoint SMS APIs from Connect contact flows with Lambda.

Why would there even be two separate numbers? Any normal phone should be able to handle calls and texting from the same number. People switch to twilio for this...
They need to fix it.
Ultimately, our need aligns with having identical numbers for both Pinpoint and Connect. This ensures the ability to leverage SMS functionality through Pinpoint and conduct voice calls using Connect seamlessly.

We also are really looking for this capability @AWS-MattDN. We used Twilio before in the exact same fashion -- same phone number for voice and SMS calls. It's a feature that's really needed.
Any updates on this?
