Urgent Support Needed: AWS Training & Certification Account Merge Request Pending (Leaving Company)

-1

Hello AWS Team,

I recently submitted a support case through the AWS Training & Certification portal to request an account merge. I am transitioning away from my current employer and need to transfer my active certifications from my corporate email address over to my personal AWS Builder ID profile before I lose access to my company inbox.

I have already replied to the case email to update it, but I haven't received an assignment or response yet. Because my last working day is approaching quickly, I am concerned about losing access to the corporate account before the verification step can be completed.

I have raised 2 tickets but no response so far. My last working day is 6th June, and I will access to both the emails till then.

Could an AWS Support moderator please assist in getting my case escalated or assigned to an agent?

Thank you, Lakshmi Rajiv.

Our CS team will get to your ticket as soon as possible. If you are concerned that may not be until after your last day, you have a few options to make the process a bit smoother:

  1. If the account you use with your corporate email is an AWS Builder ID account, log into profile.aws.amazon.com and update the email to your personal one. It sounds like you might already have a Builder ID with your personal email, so you may have to use the a + tag (ie. johndoe+1@personal.com). Then log into AWS Skill Builder or your Certification account. This will ensure the email change propagates to Training & Certification making the merge process easier when we get to your case.
  2. If option 1 is not available to you for any reason, log into your Certification account with your corporate email. From the side menu select Profile > Profile Questions. On this page, you can add a recovery email, add your personal email here. Again, this will help make the merge process easier when we get to your case.

Hope this helps!

I understand your concern about transferring your AWS certifications before losing access to your corporate email. Here's what I can help clarify:

For AWS Training and Certification account-related requests, including certification transfers or account merges, these are handled through a specialized process separate from standard AWS technical support. The AWS Training and Certification team manages these requests through their dedicated support channels.

To check on the status of your existing case or add additional information, I recommend logging into the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/ where you can view your open cases and add correspondence directly. This ensures your updates are attached to the correct case and visible to the team handling your request.

Since you're working with a time-sensitive situation due to your employment transition, when you add correspondence to your case, clearly mention your last working day and the urgency of completing the verification before you lose access to your corporate email. This context can help the team understand the time constraints you're facing.

If you haven't already, ensure you have access to both email addresses (corporate and personal) during the verification process, as account merges typically require confirmation from both accounts for security purposes.

For questions specifically about AWS Support plan options or response times, you can review the different support tiers available, though certification account matters follow their own specialized workflow regardless of your AWS account's support plan.

Hi,

I'm so sorry for the concern. Check out this doc "Edit your AWS Builder ID profile" for help with self-serve options to update your email addresses: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/signin/latest/userguide/edit-details-builder-id.html.
