"Welcome to Amazon Web Services" email from <no-reply@amazonaws.com>

0

We are a long-time paying customer (for approximately a decade) and recently received an email from Amazon that seems unusual. While the email address appears to be genuine, I'd like to confirm its validity and understand why I received it. Could you please review the email and let me know if there will be any impact on our current Amazon services?

I'm not entirely certain if that's the correct email address for AWS, but you might consider reporting your concern through this link: https://aws.amazon.com/security/report-suspicious-emails/. It's possible that it could be a phishing attempt, so it's worth checking out.

The Welcome email indicates a new AWS account has been created and the email address that received this Welcome email is the root email that was used to create this new account. Are you not aware of any new account creation?

  • The issue is we did not create any new AWS accounts in the past decade. Email was sent to multiple IAM emails not root email.
