Account-level Route 53 domain registration restriction - request account validation

-1

Hello AWS Support Team,

I am creating this new case because my previous Route 53 domain registration case has remained unassigned for several days.

Previous case ID: ***************

The issue appears to be account-level and not related to a single domain name.

I first attempted to register zimlegalibrary.com through Amazon Route 53 and received the following failure message:

“We can’t finish registering your domain. Contact AWS Support.”

I then attempted to register another available domain name, and the same Route 53 registration failure occurred again.

This suggests that my AWS account may be restricted, pending validation, pending payment/identity verification, or blocked from Route 53 domain registration.

My AWS account is active, I have a payment method added, and I am trying to complete domain registration so I can proceed with production deployment. This domain is required for DNS, SSL certificates, backend API configuration, Google/Apple OAuth redirect URLs, and payment callback URLs.

Could you please review and validate my AWS account for Route 53 domain registration, or advise the exact action required from my side to remove the registration restriction?

If this case is considered a duplicate of case ***************, please merge or escalate it, but I would appreciate assistance because the original case is still unassigned after several days.

Kind regards, Brandon

*Edit: Removed case ID — Randi S.

This situation does sound challenging and confusing.

While I can't promise when you'll receive a response from our internal teams, I've reached out to them on your behalf. Keep an eye on your case thread for more detailed updates.

I understand you're experiencing issues with Route 53 domain registration and are unable to complete registrations for multiple domains. When you receive the error message "We can't finish registering your domain. Contact AWS Support," this typically indicates that additional account verification or review is needed before domain registrations can proceed.

For domain registration issues that appear to be account-level restrictions, AWS Support will need to review your specific account details and circumstances. Since you've already opened a support case, the best path forward is to continue working through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. You can add additional details or correspondence to your existing case to provide any updates or clarify the urgency of your situation.

If you haven't received a response within the expected timeframe for your support plan, you may want to review your AWS Support plan options, as different plans offer different response time commitments. Business and Enterprise Support plans typically provide faster response times for cases that impact production workloads.

While waiting for your case to be addressed, ensure that all account information is complete and up-to-date, including payment methods and contact details, as incomplete account information can sometimes delay domain registration approvals.

The support team will be able to investigate the specific restriction on your account and provide guidance on any additional verification steps needed to enable domain registration functionality.
