RDS MYSQL upgrade from 5.7 to version 8.0: despite successful upgrade still reminder emails

0

To the responsible person at Amazon support,

From my point of view, I have successfully migrated my database instance from the old MYSql version 5.7 to 8.035. But I'm still receiving reminder emails that I have a database instance with the old MySQL version 5.7 and that I will automatically be transferred to Amazon RDS Extended Support with increased support costs from February 29, 2024. Have I done something wrong?

Could you please check and confirm this for me, that the mail of 15.02.2024 is outdated? Please feel free to check the db-instance under my account.

Best regards Michael

Verify that the database is upgraded to latest version by going into database and then under Configuration you will see engine version. If you are on 8.035 then you should be good to go. Also verify that you do not have a database running in any other region as well.

Additionally you can go into Recommendations and confirm all Recommendations have been resolved. If not then you can Dismiss it but typically if the issue is resolved it will automatically show as resolved.

If all of the above is complete you can reach out to AWS Support through your account to check why you are getting the email still.
