SMS messages sent via SNS are failing to be delivered to Vodafone customers in Qatar without delivery failure reports

0

Dear Amazon

We are currently unable to send Transactional SMS messages to our customers who are using the Vodafone network in Qatar. We are not using a Sender ID for these messages.

In the majority of cases, there are no delivery failures reported either, despite us turning this feature on (delivery reporting). We previously used to get errors when an SMS couldn't deliver, but now we don't.

Of course, we can register a Sender ID. But the problem is that we should be getting delivery failures so that we know about the issue, instead of relying on communication between our account managers and customers to make us aware of the problem.

If you need further information, I'm happy to provide it.

Thanks

Depending on the destination phone number's carrier, it can take up to 72 hours for delivery logs to appear in the Amazon SNS console.

To troubleshoot SMS delivery delays in Amazon SNS, you can refer the below article.

Also, Kindly make sure for Success sample rate, specify the percentage of successful SMS deliveries for which Amazon SNS will write logs in CloudWatch Logs. For example:

To write logs only for failed deliveries, set this value to 0.

To write logs for 10% of your successful deliveries, set it to 10.

If you don't specify a percentage, Amazon SNS writes logs for all successful deliveries.
