Unable to manage Grafana alerts silences

0

We are using AMP and AMG for our observability needs. Currently, we're not using the Alert Manager infra provided by Prometheus and are only using the Grafana's unified alerting infrastructure in v9.4.

I'm able to create alert rules and see the alerts come through to our Slack, but for some reason, we cannot access the "Silences" tab to manage silencing of our alerts. What could be causing this?

Hello, the above seems to be pertaining to Grafana Labs, which is out of scope of AWS Premium Support. However, you could refer to https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/alerting/manage-notifications/create-silence/ . If that doesn't help, you may want to reach out to Grafana support at https://grafana.com/contact.

Hello,

In order to manage alerts from external data sources, you need to configure an external Alertmanager in Grafana.

Please note that you can use a single alertmanager to receive all your Grafana, Loki, Mimir, and Prometheus alerts with an external Alertmanager. This external Alertmanager can be configured and administered from within Grafana itself.

That being said, please try adding an external Alertmanager and check again if you can enable Silencing for your Prometheus alert notifications.

Hope you find this useful. Comment here if you have any additional questions.
